#FamilyTravel Live! Solo traveling children edition

We’re thrilled to be broadcasting our Away is Home #Familytravel Live show about kids and travel this week. Our issues are ones we’ll all face at some point. First we discuss what to do when you kids upset another traveler, especially when that person becomes agressive. An we all discuss how to know when it’s the right time to let your tween travel solo. Your advice and tips are welcome!

Tune in to this page at 11 a.m. EDT on Thursday, June 27, 2013. The after party will air right here!

As you know, #Familytravel live happens across all major social media, from Twitter to Google Plus to Facebook. But you can see it all right here if you just want to watch. Which is fine with us.

Right after the social media event, we’ll live stream our after party.

So, what’s #Familytravel Live? Well, simply put, it’s an interactive, cross-platform adventure starring you. Here are the details.

This week’s discussion comes to you live from our Wyndham vacation rental on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. It’s our third visit and we always have a great time despite the fact we don’t golf. But we’ve made lots of friends that help point us in the right direction for family fun and have discovered a few favorite spots ourselves.

How about you? Where have you been? How are you getting there? What are you looking forward to?

Did you know that over the past three months Chris and Kari have lost over 30 pounds?! We’ve learned a lot about the food that’s available on the road and how to avoid the pitfalls of fast food dining. If only our kids would get on board. Do you have fussy kids that stick their nose up at healthy alternative or flat out refuse to eat anything but “kids meals?” Help us out with tips to get the sugary and salty snacks out of the cupboards and the flavorful natural foods back on our table.

How to participate

You can send us your questions by email or post them under the #familytravel hashtag on Twitter, Facebook or Google Plus.

Oh, and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus. Follow us and let us know you’re coming to the party!

See you there.
