Orlando’s sculpture gardens — minus Mickey

Erysse at the Mennello

What do you do on rainy weekend? We went on a photo safari to our favorite part of Orlando and the Mennello Museum of American Art.

The Mennello is located on Formosa Lake in a neighborhood that dates back to 1911, long before the Magic Kingdom opened. For Central Florida that’s positively ancient!

We found a new giant in the back yard. But we can’t decide if it’s looking up or down.

Musicians silently practice in the gardens.

Dogs and their bones

But the big dogs made Erysse a little nervous.

Optical confusion

I took took this shot of a statue which points up to the sky. We liked it from this perspective better.

I lived in Orlando for years and never went to this museum. Crealde, though, I’ve been to their sculpture gardens. Really nice.
