#Familytravel Live: Florida adventures edition

Kids buried in the sand

We’re thrilled to be broadcasting our Away is Home #Familytravel Live show from Florida’s Northwest coast this week. Our focus will be on the pristine beaches of the Panhandle.

Tune in to this page at 9 a.m. EDT on Thursday, May 30, 2013. The after party will air right here!

As you know, #Familytravel live happens across all major social media, from Twitter to Google Plus to Facebook. But you can see it all right here if you just want to watch. Which is fine with us.

Right after the social media event, we’ll live stream our after party with special guest, author and syndicated columnist Eileen Ogintz. If you haven’t been to her blog, Taking the Kids, you should give it a visit.

So, what’s #Familytravel Live? Well, simply put, it’s an interactive, cross-platform adventure starring you. Here are the details.

This week’s discussion comes to you live from the Holiday Inn Resort Panama City Beach, centrally positioned in Florida’s famous panhandle. Over the past year we’ve had the pleasure of visiting spots from vacation rentals on St. George Island to the fantastic 360 Pensacola Beach observation wheel with plenty of stop in between.

How about you? Where have you been? How are you getting there? What are you looking forward to?

Since we do most of our travel by car, we’re also interested in what you’re listening to on the long drives? It’s no secret that this summer we’ve had to ban a few tunes.

We’ll be giving away copies of Eileen Ogintz book “The Kids Guide To Orlando.” This wonderful guide focuses on the kids perspective and includes fun facts, games and puzzles the whole family can enjoy. A must have for any family visiting the Orlando area. Here are the details.

You can send us your questions by email or post them under the #familytravel hashtag on Twitter or Google Plus.

See you there.
